GNOME Terminal – How to Customize GNOME Terminal

GNOME Terminal is a powerful application that allows you to work in the UNIX shell environment and run your own programs. It supports multiple tabs and profiles, and several keyboard shortcuts. Several options allow you to customize the program’s interface. To use GNOME Terminal, you can click the settings menu at the top of the window to set your preferences. Using this application will make your terminal experience more personalized and convenient.

There are global and profile specific settings available. The Global tab lets you set the menubar by default. The Shortcuts tab shows you all the shortcuts configured on your system. To change the default shortcuts, click on them and then double-click on the key you want to change. The Colors tab allows you to set the background color scheme and transparency for your profile. The x-y coordinates refer to the position of the mouse pointer in the window.

GNOME Terminal includes global and profile-specific settings. You can select a default menubar and change shortcut keys on the Global tab. To switch between profiles, click on the name of the profile. The Custom tab allows you to set the background color scheme and transparency of the window. You can also enable the keyboard-mouse-over option in the Unnamed profile. When you’re creating a new window or tab, you can choose from the list of profiles available.
